Mack - 17 months

We've always had a structured routine with Mack's bedtime consisting of putting on his pj's, brushing his teeth, reading a story to him, praying and then rocking him until he fell asleep.  This process could take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and you just hoped you could get him down in his crib without waking him.  So we decided it was time he learned to put himself to sleep.  We kept with the routine minus the rocking, we simply put him in his bed.  The first night he screamed for about 20 minutes (although that was a lot less than we had anticipated), the next night he cried for about 2 minutes and by the 3rd night he laid down and waved bye-bye.

Mack's increasing vocabulary keeps a smile on our face as he tries to mimic things we say.  He is now saying around 30 words, signs a few words and understands most commands or instructions.

We took our first little family vacation just Mack and us - it was so much fun! We went to San Antonio... ate good food, went shopping, visited the SA Zoo, the Children's Museum and even got to visit with some friends.  Mack did an amazing job traveling, staying in the hotel, sleeping at night and being on the go.

Still working on the potty-training but not pressuring Mack.  He's definitely showing more signs as he frequently will want to sit on his potty chair or goes and gets a diaper when he needs to be changed.

Well the joys of motherhood keep me busier than I can keep up with therefore there are so many details I wish I could recount but I let the pictures tell the stories once again...
